For youth voter awareness, MY Bharat organized a sequential series of 23 sessions across 12 states and union territories, featuring detailed discussions on the voting process, rights, and social responsibility.
MY Bharat, established with the aim of strengthening youth participation at the national level, recently conducted 23 “Viksit Bharat Yuva Samvaad: Apna Vote Jaanen” programs in 12 states and union territories. The main objective of this initiative is to acquaint first‑time voters with their voting rights, the process, and responsibilities, and to encourage democratic participation. The events were organized in collaboration with various educational institutions, community centers, and digital platforms, with national and state‑level experts, civil rights activists, and Election Commission representatives in attendance.
Sessions covered voter registration, the operation of electronic voting machines (EVMs), post‑voting responsibilities, and interactive workshops on the role of youth in social change. Participants were given the opportunity to practice in a setup that mimicked a real polling booth, enabling them to understand the process smoothly. Through a digital campaign, a mobile application and social media reached over 1.5 lakh young people, where they easily understood the procedures for locating their polling station, uploading identification documents, and the rules on voting day.
This program holds particular significance in the lead‑up to the upcoming national elections, as the youth constitute a large portion of the electorate. An Election Commission officer said that such initiatives, by broadening voter education, will help strengthen a fair and transparent electoral process. Seeing this success, MY Bharat plans to further expand similar awareness campaigns and promote digital literacy in rural and urban areas, so that every young person can understand and exercise their voting rights.
