To promote youth voter awareness, My Bharat ran the “Developed India Youth Dialogue: Know Your Vote” program across the country’s 12 states and union territories through a total of 23 sessions, featuring detailed discussions on the voting process, candidate selection, and civic responsibilities.

**

My Bharat, a national level platform established to empower youth leadership and civic engagement, recently organized an educational series titled “Vikas Bharat Youth Dialogue: Know Your Vote” across 23 locations in 12 different States‑Union Territories. The main objective of this initiative was to acquaint the youth with the importance of voting, basic information about the electoral process and the spirit of active citizenship. In each session, local Election Commission representatives, policy experts and experienced social workers participated and explained the complexities related to voting to the youth present through question-answer sessions, case-studies and interactive workshops.

Currently, the number of young voters in India is continuously increasing, but there remains inequality in the voting rate in many areas. In this context, My India organized this event at a time when the country is gearing up for several state and national level elections. The program especially highlighted the basic aspects like identity card, validation process, working principle of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and secrecy principle of vote to the first time voters. Additionally, measures to prevent the spread of misinformation through social media and verify informational content were also discussed.

This initiative was supported by various State Election Commissions and many civil society organisations, which considered it an important step towards actively involving youth power in the democratic process. At the conclusion of the program, participants pledged to spread their learning locally and increase voting awareness in their communities. Thus, “Vikas Bharat Youth Dialogue: Know Your Vote” not only motivated the youth towards voting but also significantly contributed in strengthening the democratic values that will shape the future of India.
