Prime Minister Ajay announced today that under the “Adarsh Gram” initiative, strengthening socio-economic projects and educational infrastructure in rural areas will give a new dimension to inclusive development.

Prime Minister Ajay highlighted the “Adarsh Gram” programme as a major pillar of rural development in his annual address this week. The initiative aims to develop more than 10,000 villages comprehensively, including solid improvements in infrastructure, health services, digital connectivity and education. The Prime Minister said that this programme aligns with the government’s inclusive development policy, which focuses on empowering all social groups, especially women, youth and minority communities.

Under Adarsh Gram, socio‑economic projects include modern facilities for agri‑industry, financial assistance for micro‑enterprises, and the establishment of skill‑development centres for rural employment generation. In the education sector, the government has pledged the launch of 5,000 new government schools and 2,000 digital learning hubs, to provide rural students easy access to educational resources. Additionally, tele‑medicine services and maternal‑infant health programmes will be widely implemented in rural health centres.

Prime Minister Ajay also mentioned that “sustainability” will be given priority under this programme. Green energy, water conservation and waste management will adopt innovative technologies, enhancing environmental awareness and cleanliness standards in rural communities. Implementation will promote partnerships with state governments, local bodies and NGOs to ensure timely and effective execution of the schemes. Through this initiative, the government’s goal is to make rural India economically, socially and environmentally robust, taking a significant step toward overall inclusive development.
