In the inauguration ceremony of the new RBI branch and digital payment centre, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of strengthening financial inclusion, the digital economy, and India's development journey; his full speech is presented here.

Bhubaneswar, Odisha – The grand inauguration of several key Reserve Bank of India (RBI) facilities – a new main branch, a digital payments hub, and a financial literacy centre – is being regarded today as a milestone in the country’s financial landscape. This project was implemented under the central government’s Financial Inclusion and Digital India initiatives, aiming to broaden access to banking services in both rural and urban areas. The ceremony was attended by numerous financial officials, representatives of the state government, and the general public, underscoring the social and economic impact of the event.

Prime Minister, in his opening address, said:

> “Today we are marking a step that further strengthens and makes our country’s financial structure more inclusive. The new RBI branch is not just a building; it is the bridge that connects rural farmers, small entrepreneurs, and ordinary citizens to reliable banking services.

> The inauguration of the digital payments hub demonstrates that India is rapidly moving toward a digital economy; it not only makes transactions secure and swift but also minimizes financial fraud.
>
> Our goal is to grant every Indian the right to banking, whether in a hilly village or on the streets of a metropolis. In this direction, RBI’s steps are a significant progress toward realizing our mission of financial inclusion.
>
> I appeal to all officials, staff, and the public to make maximum use of these new facilities and to work together to promote financial literacy. Our joint effort will establish India as an economic power on the world stage.”
