The central government has decided to organize special village assemblies across the country to discuss new governance reforms and formally launch the “Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas” public scheme campaign for 2026‑27, thereby strengthening rural development and transparency.

The central government announced today that special village meetings will be held in all states of the country in the coming week, where local representatives, social workers and ordinary citizens will have the opportunity to discuss transformative governance reforms in detail. The main aim of these meetings is to make the decision‑making process at the panchayat level more transparent, accountable and technically robust. The government said that under the new initiative, budget allocations, implementation progress and the list of beneficiaries will be made publicly available through a digital platform, reducing potential opportunities for corruption. In addition, proposals were presented for the formation of a monitoring committee at the village level, mandatory representation of women and youth, and strengthening of the local grievance redressal mechanism.

Along with these reforms, the centre officially launched the new public scheme campaign “Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas” for 2026‑27. This campaign, incorporating the experiences of previous social security schemes—such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana—aims to ensure comprehensive welfare for all sections of society. Under the scheme, targeted investments will be made in basic sectors such as health, education, water‑conservation, roads and solar energy, and beneficiaries will receive funds directly through an integrated portal. The government said that this campaign will accelerate the expansion of economic opportunities, reduction of poverty and social inclusion in rural areas.

Reform proposals presented in the special village meetings.
