The Telangana government has launched a special mobile application under a new scheme targeting women, enabling eligible beneficiaries to receive assistance directly through digital means.
Telangana government recently announced a major expansion of a comprehensive welfare scheme targeting all female citizens of the state.
The government has introduced a special digital platform named “Revant,” which will provide women with direct access to government assistance, subsidies, and various social benefits. The initiative aims to promote digital literacy and ensure transparency in benefit distribution, removing intermediaries so that aid reaches beneficiaries directly.
Eligible women must first verify their Aadhaar and bank accounts to use the new application. To keep the application process simple, the government has provisioned on‑ground assistance in collaboration with local panchayats and women’s welfare centres. Through this app, the amounts earmarked under various schemes—such as Kalyana Lakshmi, Ashara, and maternity benefits—will be automatically deposited into accounts. It is estimated that this initiative will provide approximately 5 lakh women with an additional 1,000 rupees per month in the next fiscal year, thereby enhancing economic empowerment and reducing health‑related expenses.
