The purpose of this campaign organized in Lucknow is to inspire youth and the general public toward a drug‑free life and to highlight the socio‑health challenges associated with the misuse of narcotic substances.

Central Narcotics Bureau (CBN) and National Drug Control (DNC) Office Launch Comprehensive Awareness Campaign “Operation Jagriti” in Lucknow

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CBN) and the National Drug Control (DNC) Office have launched a comprehensive awareness campaign named “Operation Jagriti” in Lucknow. This initiative was devised in response to the recently escalating drug‑free problem in Uttar Pradesh, where various government reports indicate a significant rise in substance use among youth.

Under the campaign, posters, banners, infographics, and multimedia materials have been installed in major public venues, educational institutions, community centers, and health clinics. Additionally, in collaboration with police, the health department, and local NGOs, workshops, interactive sessions, and drug‑free counseling classes have been organized. To specifically target school and college students, experienced psychologists and rehabilitation specialists have provided practical guidance on the adverse effects of drugs, signs of addiction, and preventive measures. The campaign also distributed drug‑free helpline numbers and contact details of rehabilitation centers, enabling victims and their families to receive prompt assistance.
