The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, while celebrating the 11th Ayurveda Day, emphasized the role of Ayurveda in the health sector. The program featured lectures by experts, workshops, and discussions on the integration of Ayurveda into urban health schemes.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs organized the 11th Ayurveda Day on 23 September, 2026 under the theme “Ayurveda for a Healthy Tomorrow”. The main objective of this year’s program was to integrate Ayurvedic principles into urban health schemes and elevate the standard of living of citizens. Prominent Ayurvedic physicians, researchers and policymakers participated in the event and highlighted Ayurvedic preventive medicine, nutrition and mental health for the urban population.

During the program, a panel discussion was held on “Ayurveda and Urban Health”. The panel comprised Ayurvedic physician Dr. Archana Patil, health policy expert Professor Rakesh Singh and urban planner Ms. Neelam Sharma. They explained that rising pollution, unhealthy diets and stress in urban areas are increasing the demand for Ayurvedic treatments and preventive measures. In addition, the ministry announced new initiatives to establish Ayurvedic health centers, ensure quality control of Ayurvedic medicines, and incorporate Ayurvedic education programmes into urban health schemes.

In the closing ceremony, along with the Prime Minister’s message, the launch of a digital campaign to raise public awareness of Ayurvedic treatment was also mentioned. This program marked a significant step toward establishing Ayurveda as a holistic health approach and encouraged urban residents to lead healthy and balanced lives through Ayurvedic principles.
