The President of India welcomed hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein and Princess Sophie at Rashtrapati Bhavan during their official visit and signed several agreements to strengthen economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

At the formal welcome ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, India’s President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and several senior diplomats received Prince Alois of Liechtenstein and Princess Sophie. The visit was undertaken by the younger generation of Liechtenstein’s ruling family to deepen bilateral relations with India. The ceremony featured discussions on numerous points to promote cooperation between the two countries in trade, investment and sustainable development.

During the meeting, both sides shared their respective experiences on key issues such as energy transition, climate change and digital innovation. Liechtenstein, regarded as a reliable partner in financial services and high‑tech industries, expressed interest in investing in renewable energy projects in India. In turn, India offered a special incentive package to Liechtenstein’s small but influential entrepreneurs for entry into the Indian market. On this occasion, the framework for bilateral trade talks was formalized and a memorandum of understanding was signed to promote Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) cooperation.
