The latest government statistics show that women constitute 43 % of the workforce in the service sector, and their representation in key areas such as health, education, and social security has risen to over 50 %.

According to a recent government survey, the share of women among total employees working in the Ayush service sector has reached 43 %, indicating a notable increase compared to previous years. The main reason for this improvement is considered to be the effective implementation of various central and state‑level policies, including women’s reservation, gender‑balanced recruitment processes and flexible working‑hour arrangements at the workplace. Particularly in major sectors such as health, education, social security and rural development, women’s participation has risen to more than 50 %, representing a solid step toward gender equality in these areas.

Detailed analysis shows that this change has not only promoted women’s economic empowerment but also improved the quality of services. The presence of female staff has increased confidence in maternal and infant health services at health centres, while female teachers in educational institutions are establishing better communication with students. Additionally, women’s participation in the implementation of social security schemes has facilitated the delivery of targeted benefits to rural women. Experts believe that to sustain this positive trend, there is a need to expand training programmes, provide clear career‑progression pathways, and enforce strict policies against gender‑based violence in the workplace.

In future strategies, the government has proposed new initiatives to further strengthen the female workforce, including technical skill development, entrepreneurship support and targeted quotas to increase the number of women in senior positions. If these measures are implemented effectively, further progress toward gender balance in the Ayush service sector will be possible, raising expectations of notable improvements in both social inclusion and the reach of public services.
