The Ministry of Finance honored the Department of Financial Services with the first “Rajbhasha Kirti” award for the year 2025‑26, recognizing the extensive use and quality of Hindi in government financial communication.

The Ministry of Finance recently honored the Department of Financial Services with the inaugural “Rashtrabhasha Kirti” award for the year 2025‑26. This award recognizes the Government of India’s efforts under the official language policy to establish Hindi as a primary language in governmental functions. Over the past two years, the Department of Financial Services has made notable progress by making all major financial documents, reports, and public information materials available in Hindi, developing Hindi‑friendly interfaces on digital platforms, and running comprehensive Hindi training programs for staff. These initiatives have not only simplified access to financial information for ordinary citizens but also promoted financial inclusion among users from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

The “Rashtrabhasha Kirti” award aims to encourage effective implementation of Hindi by government institutions and to acknowledge excellence. In this year’s selection, the department’s technological innovations—such as automated translation modules, Hindi‑based user experiences in mobile apps, and the extensive reach of annual Hindi dialogue sessions—were considered key criteria. The Ministry of Finance stated that this recognition will inspire other ministries and departments to strengthen the use of Hindi, thereby reinforcing national unity and cultural diversity. In light of this achievement, the Department of Financial Services has announced plans to further expand financial literacy programs in Hindi and to bolster multilingual digital services.
