** Indian Navy's state-of-the-art guided missile destroyer INS Trishul completed port call at strategic Port Souda Bay, off the island of Crete, Greece during a recent maritime mission. The move reflects Indian maritime power's growing presence in European waters and is an important symbol of the expansion of India‑Europe maritime security cooperation. Speaking on the occasion of the port call, the Principal Officer of the Indian Navy said that this visit reinforces the Indian Navy's commitment to multilateral cooperation and adherence to international maritime rules. He also mentioned that regular presence of Indian ships in Souda Bay will be helpful in ensuring regional stability, fight against piracy and free maritime trade. During this period, technical dialogue and training sessions were organized between the Indian and Greek Navies, providing an opportunity to advance military-technical cooperation between the two countries.
This port call of INS Trishul was approved by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Defense as part of India's "Indo‑Pacific" strategy.
