The Speaker of the Parliament extended greetings to all Hindus on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi, delivering a message to reestablish cultural unity and social harmony.

Lok Sabha Speaker today, on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi, extended heartfelt congratulations to the entire Hindu community and wished peace, prosperity and unity on this auspicious occasion. In his address he said that the symbol of Ganesh as “Vighnaharta” and “god of taste” has deep roots in Indian civilization, inspiring the removal of obstacles on the path of social and economic development. He also mentioned that during this festival people of various religions come together to partake in worship and cultural programs, thereby strengthening national unity and cultural diversity.

The Speaker also conveyed his best wishes for the festival to all members of Parliament and said that democratic institutions should play an active role in strengthening the social fabric. He further highlighted that the country is currently facing various economic and social challenges, and it is essential to promote social cooperation and collective spirit by embracing cultural festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi. In this context he appealed to all political parties to use this festival as a symbol of unity rather than a tool of violence or division.

In conclusion, the Speaker reminded all citizens to observe necessary precautions for safe and healthful celebrations, and also said that the strength inherent in India’s diversity is the main foundation for the country’s progress. He stated that on this auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, everyone should resolve to jointly realize the goal of social harmony and national progress.
