To strengthen young voter awareness, MY Bharat organized 23 educational sessions across 12 states and union territories, discussing in detail the voting process, rights, and social responsibilities.
The national‑level platform MY Bharat, which promotes youth empowerment and citizen participation, recently organized 23 “Developed India Youth Dialogue: Know Your Vote” programs across 12 states and union territories. This series, held in various universities, colleges, and community centers, aimed primarily to provide first‑time voters with clear information about the voting process, the functioning of electronic voting machines (EVMs), and their electoral rights. The program included interactive sessions, role‑plays, and Q&A on practical aspects such as voter registration, obtaining identification certificates, and accessing polling stations, giving participants real‑world experience.
More than 7,500 young people have taken part in this initiative, including college students, youths from both urban and rural areas, and women voting for the first time. During the event, a senior executive of MY Bharat stated, “Ensuring that the youth are fully informed about their voting rights is essential for strengthening democracy. This initiative not only provides information but also fosters a sense of social responsibility among young people.” Local election officials also attended, highlighting measures to simplify the registration process and facilitate access to polling stations.
In the future, MY Bharat plans to expand this dialogue series by incorporating online webinars via digital platforms and interactive learning modules through a mobile application. Experts believe that such initiatives can significantly increase youth voter participation in upcoming national elections, thereby ensuring broader representation and transparency in the democratic process.
