The Ministry of Defence has announced the final results of the first examinations of the National Defence Academy (NDA) and the Naval Academy (INA) for 2026, informing the selected candidates that they will join the upcoming training session.

The Ministry of Defense has today published the results of National Defense Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (INA) First Examination 2026 on the official website and leading news portals. In this phase, a total of about one lakh seven hundred thousand candidates appeared for the written examination, which included questions from General Knowledge, Mathematics, Science and English. As per the results, 300 candidates in NDA and 250 candidates in INA were declared qualified in the written examination, successfully concluding the first phase of the selection process. Selected candidates will be called for Further Physical Test (SST) and Personal Interview (SIFE), based on which the final list will be prepared.

Compared to previous years, this time there has been a significant increase in competition, making the selection criteria more stringent. The Defense Ministry said that the candidates who have passed the upcoming physical test and interview process will be admitted to the National Defense Academy, Pune and Naval Academy, Kolkata for a training period of two‑three years. This training is considered extremely important in producing future officers of the Indian Armed Forces, with special emphasis on academic learning, physical fitness and leadership skills.

Selected candidates will be informed of the date and location of the physical test in the coming months, and successful candidates will be required to complete the required medical examination and documentation before the start of training. While wishing all the candidates good luck for the further stages, the Defense Ministry said that this process is constantly evolving with the aim of maintaining the highest standards of the Indian Army and Navy.
