The Ministry strengthened the tourism experience by swiftly resolving pending tourism-related complaints and completing extensive cleanliness work at major tourist sites under the launched Campaign 6.0.

The Ministry of Tourism, as part of its continuous efforts, has concluded the special campaign 6.0, which gave special attention to the settlement of pending cases and sanitation improvement. The initiative involved more than 150 tourism information centres established at the national and state levels, more than 300 hotels and resorts, and major tourist attractions. During the campaign, the ministry classified over 12,000 complaints accumulated over the past few years on the basis of priority and provided time‑bound solutions through a digital tracking system. As a result, most cases were resolved within two months, earning positive feedback from both tourism entrepreneurs and travelers.

In the area of sanitation, campaign 6.0 implemented extensive cleaning and waste‑management programmes at India’s major tourist sites—such as the lakes of Kashmir, the forts of Rajasthan, and the beaches of South India. With the cooperation of environmental experts and local bodies, sanitation standards were established on more than 2,000 kilometres of roads, 500 public toilets and 200 major attractions. As a result of these actions, the sanitation rating improved by an average of 20 percent, giving India a better position in international tourism rankings.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism said that the successful execution of campaign 6.0 has not only helped resolve existing issues but also laid a solid foundation for future tourism development. He added that in the upcoming phases the digital grievance‑redressal system will be further strengthened and community participation will be increased to ensure sustained cleanliness. Thus, the special campaign 6.0 has taken significant steps toward making India a clean, responsible and traveler‑friendly tourism destination.
