The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced a new initiative that will prioritize clean administration, swift resolution of pending cases, and digital record management, in order to boost investor confidence and establish transparency in the business environment.

The Departmental Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) recently announced a special campaign aimed at bringing cleanliness to government procedures, reducing the number of pending cases, and modernizing the record‑management system. This initiative has been introduced in response to numerous complaints raised by investors and industrialists over the past few years, among which delays in contract approvals, opacity in licensing procedures, and irregularities in paper documents were prominent. The ministry said that under this campaign all departmental work will be brought onto a digital platform, enabling document tracking, deadline setting, and transparent reporting.

Key points of the campaign include preparing a standardized checklist for clean administrative procedures, setting clear deadlines for pending cases, and establishing an integrated data‑governance framework. In addition, the existing case‑management software will be upgraded and regular training programmes will be conducted for staff so that they can effectively use the new digital tools. As a result of this initiative, faster decision‑making processes in the industry sector, increased flow of investment, and improvement in India’s trade competitiveness are expected.

DPIIT said the progress of this campaign will be reviewed on a quarterly basis and corrective measures will be taken as needed. If successful, possibilities will open up to implement this model in other ministries and state‑level institutions as well, establishing a new standard of cleanliness, accountability, and efficiency across the entire administrative framework.
